It's always good to learn more about fashion. In my line of business, there are always new trends, styles and brands to learn more about just to stay at the peak of your game-- especially when your new to the world of fashion. The past few days have kicked off the start of New York Fashion Week and I have paid close attention as some of the world's most famous fashion designers have gathered to present their vision for Spring 2013. I have often dreamed, and can only imagine, Brand Name Clothing being featured in a show for fashion week in the future. Although I wasn't able to attend this year, I did witness something special at the Emerging Memphis Designer Project Kick-off Panel. Memphis Fashion Week 2013 is searching for emerging Memphis designers to be a part of upcoming runway shows for spring and established a panel of speakers to share knowledge of the fashion world. The panelist included Patt Kerr, international designer of Pat Kerr Inc; Star Hawkins, stylist and designer; Bruce Bui, wardrobe manager at Ballet Memphis; John Sylvester, owner of Sache Clothing and Design; and Catherine Walker, buyer for James Davis Store. This panel of experts gave great advice on how to start and create your own brand. It was very informative, and even more interesting to hear their views of fashion.
