This week we are taking it to the Southside of Chicago, where you can find a new hip-hop artist by the name of Rockie Fresh. Rockie Fresh has a unique sound that blends the style of alternative rock with hip-hop. Last year, Rockie recieved a lot of attention from his mixtape release, Driving 88, which broke out with his hit single "You a Lie." It was so much a success that he landed a deal with Rick Ross's record label, Maybach Music Group. After earning a spot on one of the most popular labels in hip-hop, Rockie went on tour promoting his newly released mixtape, Electic Highway, at www.datpiff.com. This mixtape showcases his mellow tone and smooth lyrics to fill a void that many may say the music game has been missing. It's only right we showcase Rockie Fresh's video for our first Video of the Week since he is definitely living the "fresh life."
