Don't call it a comeback! It's funny how certain styles and trends can revolve around each other to make a come back and become popular again. Snapbacks, tie dye shirts, but in this case, Reebok. Founded in 1958 by Joe and Jeff Foster, Reebok has been a subsidiary of the German company, Adidas, since 2005 to produce athletic shoes, apparel and accessories. The name "Reebok" comes from the African spelling of rhebok, a type of African antelope or gazelle. How cool is that? Reebok has been making great strides recently to come back from the peak of its popularity back in the late 80's and 90's. Now, Reebok is partnering with several artist, atheletes, and celebrities. Most recently R&B singer singer Alicia Keys signed a deal with Reebok to design her own line of fresh kicks to include her take of the 5411's, freestyle Double Bubble, Classic Nylon Slim and Princess styles. Alicia Keys, apparently, was a big fan of Reebok as a kid and did not hesitate when this opportunity arose. Keeping it all in the family, her husband, famed hip-hop artist and producer Swizz Beatz, also works closely with the brand. Some cool designs include the New York skyline, studded, and of course, a piano keyboard complete with leather. I can already tell the female sneakerheads will be going crazy over these exclusive kicks found at Macy's, Foot Action, City Gear and www.reebok.com Below is the promotional video Alicia Keys and Reebok recently aired at the 2012 MTV VMA's. Enjoy and stay fresh!!
